Any San Diego trip is just not complete without visiting LEGOLAND in Carlsbad. If you have toddlers or grade school kids, LEGOLAND is the perfect theme park. If your toddler is 34" or taller, they can ride most rides (36"or taller, just about all rides). We visited this event recently and it's a nice stroll through the Botanic Garden before reaching the Butterfly Pavilion. At the Pavilion, visitors can walk among the butterflies and caterpillars. Butterflies will land on your head and shoulders. This is a great photo opportunity for the kids!

Ice Cream Cake

Simple and delicious birthday cake!

We have ice cream cake every year for my daughter's June birthday. It is always a big hit at her annual pool party. This year, we did something different: we made it ourselves. It definitely cost less and it was easy to prepare. With my mother-in-law's fancy handwriting, we customized the top decoration to fit the party's theme and my daughter's current interests. The result: pure deliciousness!

I love when strawberries are in season. While picking them at the farm, mixing them in salads and dipping them in chocolate are just three of the many ways I love to eat them. But one of my favorite desserts is Strawberry Upside Down Cake. It is so simple and sooooooo yummy.
