Circus Vargas in Ontario

By Griselda Barragan April 20, 2016

Macaroni Kid Review:

Circus Vargas iLUMINOUS is fun for the the entire family. The show is energetic, entertaining, and retro. From the moment the show starts you feel the excitement. The eclectic music selection ranged from jazz to oldies to 80's and beyond. It made my husband and me feel nostalgic and we were like kids at the circus again. The family friendly gags and performances will keep anyone from 2 to 100 years old entertained throughout the 2 hour show.

The circus features a variety of acts, among them: contortionists, trampoline, trapeze, dance, musicians, motorcycles and more.  I was in awe at the sheer strength, agility, and endurance required by the performers. The performances that I enjoyed the most were the trampoline wall performer, the trapeze artists, the Globe of Danger and the acrobats. The Globe of Danger is definitely the highlight of the show. At one point a woman goes into the globe and stands there while 2 motorcyclist drive around her! Talk about daring! Given the small size of the the globe, it's chilling enough to have two motorcyclist driving around in there, let alone have a woman in there. Both the trampoline wall performers and the Globe of Danger performers are lit up by LED bodysuits during part of their acts. It makes for quite a spectacular showing.

Arrive 30 minutes early so your kids can try hula hooping, juggling, and balancing. There is also face painting available and yummy snacks. Dress down a bit because it can get a tad bit warm under the big blue top. There isn't a bad seat in the house; the tent isn't very big, so almost all the seats give you a great view of the ring.
