Macaroni Kid Reivew:

The zoo holds excitement for young and old alike throughout the year but the addition of Reindeer Romp makes it even more fun! This holiday season, the LA Zoo offers families a chance to see real, live reindeer!  Did you know reindeer only live to be 10 years old?  Children and adults will get a chance to view these beautiful creatures and touch a real set of antlers.

My daughter absolutely loved being up close to the reindeer and asking the keeper numerous questions.  She also enjoyed coloring and making her own reindeer antlers.
In addition, the festive decorations set up throughout the zoo definitely helps you get in the holiday spirit. Kids can even take a picture with Santa if they want.  Hot cocoa and churro stands also help hungry visitors tame their tummies.  The Beverly Belles add a nice, musical touch with their 60's hair do and dresses, singing our favorite songs.  All in all, our morning was lovely.  After all, what's not lovely about spending the day with so many adorable and beautiful creatures?

Guests are invited to make the most of the holiday season with a full day of fun and adventure at a great value highlighted by a visit with a reindeer family, including their two babies, in their Reindeer Village home, the only place to view live reindeer in Los Angeles.  A flurry of other activities on weekends include reindeer keeper talks twice daily, holiday crafts for youngsters, ice-carving demonstrations, Swazzle Holiday Extravaganza puppet shows, seasonal music entertainment by the Beverly Belles, and a rotating schedule of animals unwrapping gifts all their own.  Visits with Santa Claus in a  whimsical Santa Village and photo ops (for a nominal fee) take place every weekend through December 18 from 11 am to 3 pm.

The 17 life-size, animatronic prehistoric creatures of Dinosaurs: Unextinct at the L.A. Zoo, brought to life with electronic "brains," take visitors back in time for a colossal adventure, providing a rare chance to discover a lost world from millions upon millions of years ago while warning about the very real threat of extinction faced today by many endangered species.  Entry to Dinosaurs is just $5 per person in addition to regular Zoo admission.
