Macaroni Kid Review!

Birthday Party at The Children's Museum at La Habra

July 19, 2013

I've been wanting to plan a special birthday party for my nephew for quite some time.  I don't think we could have picked a better venue than The Children's Museum at La Habra.  The location was very central for a lot of our guests since a lot of them were coming from either Irvine, Rowland Heights, or Arcadia.   The party room was spacious with its own private double door entry, and came with an attached kitchen, high ceiling (with beautiful ribbon lighting display), and a nice rainbow mural as a backdrop.

The museum staff were awesome.  They set up the tables/chairs for us, and even provided a throne for the birthday boy!  All these things complimented the decorations, table cloth, and food we brought for the party.  For a hot summer day, the room was nicely air conditioned and comfortable.  It was helpful that we were able to have the attached kitchen to set up the food we brought.

After eating and cutting the cake, we moved our party to the museum side where our guests were able to freely enjoy all the rooms and exhibits.  We were concerned at first that everyone would be scattered, but it was actually really ideal that the birthday boy had a chance to interact with different guests more personally in each of the different interactive rooms.  When the time came to tour the train outside, the whole party was reunited inside the caboose!   As the party started to wind down, the guests naturally ended up in the carousel room, where old and young were having fun on the MTA bus display.  It was fun watching the young kids ride the carousel over and over again.   We'd like to especially thank all the museum staff for taking care of the littles ones and giving them extra rides!  We definitely want to have another party here again, and recommend it to anyone with children ages (1 - 10).
