The 22nd Annual Kidspace Children's Museum Pumpkin Festival hosted by the Circle of Friends returns to Brookside Park, October 15 and 16 from 9:30a.m.-5:00p.m. Last year, the event hosted more than 20,000 people from the Southern California region.
Pumpkin Festival admission is free and the community is invited to attend. Live musical performances, selected crafts, and a photo opportunity at the pumpkin patch are all complimentary. Tickets are available for purchase to enjoy the bouncers, petting zoo, games, food, and many other attractions. Children can play carnival games, make fall crafts, have their faces painted, and select their pumpkins from the pumpkin patch. Enjoy free live musical performances from The Alana Banana Show, The Hollow Trees, Revolution Dance Center, Rumbling Rhythms, Samba Da Mudanca, Los Angeles Children's Orchestra, and more.
Pumpkin Festival Co-Chairs, Amanda Heitritter and Claire Marco, are very excited about this year's event. "The Pumpkin Festival is a long-standing tradition for families in the community. It's the perfect opportunity to choose pumpkins from our pumpkin patch, enjoy festive games, bounce houses, and Halloween crafts, all while fundraising to support Kidspace Children's Museum," said Marco. "My family and friends look forward to the Pumpkin Festival every year." Heitritter and Marco have lined up an impressive assortment of food vendors, as well including In-N-Out Burger, Robins Wood Fire BBQ, Teri & Yaki, Shakey's Pizza, Kona Ice, Choctal, Los Tacos, and Jones Coffee Roasters. With so much to do, see, and sample, families can spend the whole day celebrating fall and getting excited for Halloween.
The Pumpkin Festival is organized by the Circle of Friends, the museum's volunteer support group, and offers even the youngest children a fun and safe way to celebrate fall. "From toddlers to the young at heart, there is something for everyone," said Heitritter. "I am so thankful to the amazing women in the Circle of Friends who work tirelessly to create this incredible event each year. I am especially grateful to our generous donors who make it possible for over 400 underserved children from family-focused charities to enjoy the event and receive tickets free of charge."
The 22nd Annual Kidspace Pumpkin Festival is sponsored in part by HomeStreet Bank, KIND™, and K12.com. Representatives from our sponsors will be in attendance at the event to distribute materials and answer questions about their services.
Kidspace Children's Museum is located at 480 N. Arroyo Blvd., and will be open during the festival. Free parking is available in Lots I and J-East in Brookside Park, adjacent to the Rose Bowl. Kidspace offers more than 40 hands-on exhibits on almost 3.5 acres of indoor and outdoor space, programs, and activities that are designed to encourage a child's growth and development through exploration of the environment, investigation in science, and artistic expression.
