DBCP teachers have 44 years combined experience in early childhood education. Our 3 & 5 day children participate in a quality curriculum call “Stepping Stones” that fully prepares your child for kindergarten. Our preschool classes have a 4:1 student-teacher ratio!
Our School
Diamond Bar Community Preschool was founded in February 1966. DBCP is a parent participation preschool, where parents assist a professional teacher in the classroom on a rotating basis, two-four days per month.
The idea of a co-op extends in the lasting friendships with other parents: working together to make the best first school experience for our children. The co-op spirit is what most of us particularly enjoy about our school.
The school is licensed by the California Department of School Welfare and is a member of the San Gabriel Valley Council (SGVC) and the California Council of Parent Participation Nursery Schools (CCPPNS). The purpose of these associations is to maintain mutual aid and exchange of information for all co-ops and members of co-ops.
Our Vision
The objective of our school is to create and maintain a safe, nurturing environment of highest quality, where children and families learn together. With 7 working parents and two credentialed teachers each day, we are able to provide a 4:1 ratio (of students to teacher) where children are exposed daily to a variety of Art, Math, Science, Language activities, Dramatic Play.
Our Programs
2-Day Preschool Program (for 3 year old) – Tuesdays and Thursdays (9:15am-12:15pm)
Cost: $115 month
Our 2-Day preschool program is designed to help introduce young children to a school environment. We focus on socialization skills, such as learning how to play with friends, taking turns, and separating from parents. Children learn through play, so they are provided many different opportunities to learn and grow.
3-Day Pre-Kindergarten Program (for the 4-5 year old) Mondays, Wednesday and Friday (9:15am-1pm) Cost: $205 month
Our 3-day Pre-Kindergarten Program is a much more academic program. Children are introduced to Phonics and the skills they will need for kindergarten readiness. We focus on listening skills and how to follow directions. Children are assessed three times a year to monitor their progress. Children also attend numerous learning field trips through out the year and enjoy special event days at school, such as Teddy Bear Tea Party, Muffins with Mom, Donuts with Dad and more!
5-Day Pre-Kindergarten Program (for 4-5 year old) Monday, Wednesday, Friday (9:15am-1pm) & Tuesdays and Thursdays (9:15am – 12:15pm) Cost: $305 month
Our 5-Day Pre-Kindergarten program is very unique. It includes all the benefits of the 3-day program, with the additional two days of school providing the children with small group interaction with the teacher. Because the children are with the younger students for part of the day, we also emphasize the role of being a leader. This is where they gain independence and self-confidence in their endeavors.
